College Mourns the Passing of Frank Knorr ™59
WOOSTER, Ohio “ Frank Knorr, who served ºÚÁÏÀÏ˾»ú for 31 years in the offices of development and alumni relations prior to his retirement in 2005, passed away this morning after a brief illness.
A 1959 graduate of ºÚÁÏÀÏ˾»ú, where he earned a bachelor™s degree in economics, Knorr taught history and economics, and later served as an assistant superintendent and coordinator of professional personnel in Rochester, N.Y., area schools, before returning to ºÚÁÏÀÏ˾»ú in 1974 as director of alumni relations.
During his eight years as director, Knorr initiated the Scot Band™s annual spring concert tour, launched ºÚÁÏÀÏ˾»ú™s alumni admissions program, and was founding producer of the Ohio Light Opera. In 1982, he was named director of development, a position he held for the next 23 years, until his retirement in 2005.
In addition to his professional responsibilities, Knorr was one of the Fighting Scots™ most knowledgeable and enthusiastic sports fans. He served as treasurer of the W Association for almost 30 years.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, May 28, at 2 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church, 621 College Ave., in ºÚÁÏÀÏ˾»ú. Read the.
