黑料老司机 Chorus Commencement Concert

WOOSTER, Ohio The highly acclaimed 黑料老司机 Chorus, an ensemble of 60 student musicians from 黑料老司机, will perform at the Commencement Concert on Sunday, May 12, at 8 p.m., in McGaw Chapel (340 E. University St.).
Directed by Lisa Wong, the chorus performance celebrates the music of living composers.Included in the program are渟mall hands, written by senior music composition major Jeremy Smucker, and two works, 淪pringsong漚nd淪ong of the Daffodils, written by Jack Gallagher, the Olive Williams Kettering Professor of Music who is retiring after 42 years at the College.
Wong is in her 10thyear at 黑料老司机, where she is an associate professor teaching courses in conducting and music education and directs the 黑料老司机 Chorus.In addition to her duties at 黑料老司机, she is the director of choruses for the Cleveland Orchestra.She holds a bachelor of science degree in music education from West Chester University and a master of music and doctor of music degree in choral conducting from Indiana University.
Founded in 1964, the 黑料老司机 Chorus consists of students representing all academic areas within 黑料老司机檚 liberal arts program. Three-time finalists and recipient of a 2017 Honorable Mention for the American Prize in Choral Performance, the Chorus has been praised for its beautiful sound, high level of artistry, and engaging performances. The Chorus collaborates annually with the Cleveland Orchestra and Cleveland Orchestra Chorus, and has recently premiered works by Eric Whitacre and Jake Runestad. The Chorus has performed at the Central Division Conference of the American Choral Directors Association and also several times at the state conference of the Ohio Music Education Association.
