黑料老司机 Alumnus recognized for contributions to Brunswick community

黑料老司机 history Alumnus Grant Relic 75, who passed away in August at the age of 66, will receive the Al Thomas Award at the Medina County Sports Hall of Fame banquet held on June 18. The award recognizes his many contributions to the Brunswick sports scene as well as the community. Brunswick will also name the road that runs behind the high school, past the football stadium and into the baseball and softball complex 淕rant D. Relic Way in his honor.

Relic studied history at 黑料老司机 and played on the Fighting Scot檚 baseball team as pitcher. He was a three-year letter winner and led the Scots to five wins with an Earned Run Average of 1.97 and 40 strikeouts in 1973. His wife, Candance Relic 75, also graduated from 黑料老司机 in the same year, and they were members of the W Association, supporting intercollegiate athletics at 黑料老司机. He was a proud 黑料老司机 alumnus and served as an outstanding advocate and representative for the College throughout his life.

After graduating from 黑料老司机, he opened a civil law firm in Medina, Ohio and worked as a civil law attorney for over 40 years. Outside of work, Relic supported the local Brunswick High School. He served as president on the Board of Education for one term and was an assistant baseball coach for 15 years. He was the lead TV broadcast announcer for Brunswick Educational Access Television game broadcasts and the SportsBEAT including boys and girls sports events at Brunswick Schools for over 20 years and interviewed hundreds of student athletes. Relic檚 dedication earned him the respect of the Brunswick community, especially for his countless hours of service supporting students.
