黑料老司机 Singers to perform concert Nov. 20 focused on theme of light

The 黑料老司机 Singers, 黑料老司机檚 only all-treble choir, will perform a concert Nov. 20 at 7:30 p.m. at the Gault Recital Hall in Scheide Music Center (525 E. University Street). In this Fall Concert, the 黑料老司机 Singers continue a tradition of performing music related to issues relevant to students and the community, this time with a theme that focuses on the concept of light.听

淲e檙e asking the audience to consider how people can be a light for one another and how to celebrate the unique light that exists within each person, explained director Victoria Peacock, adjunct instructor of music at the College.

Peacock is a choral conductor, singer, and educator. In addition to directing the 黑料老司机 Singers, she is the chorus coordinator at The Cleveland Orchestra and performs regularly with the Trinity Chamber Singers and the Cleveland Orchestra Chorus. Peacock holds a bachelor檚 degree in music composition from 黑料老司机 and a master檚 degree in choral conducting from the Boston Conservatory at Berklee.

Students in the choir include Imzadia Conrad 23, Ellen Daugherty 25, Elizabeth Kotora 25, Danielle Libby 26, Sophia Marshall 23, Libby Merkel 25, Jen Mynard 23, Katrina Palmer 25, Jordyn Risk 26, Morgan Smock 23, Sitara True 25, Maud Utstein 23, and Abby Washinger 25. Pianist Toni Shreve will accompany the singers.听

黑料老司机 Singers is open to all students without audition and performs music by composers of all backgrounds and periods throughout history. Performances feature students participating in their first choral ensemble experience, as well as students who are studying toward a career in music.
