Professor Long is originally from Idaho and received her bachelor檚 degree in听economics from Westminster College, a liberal arts college in Salt Lake City, Utah.听She completed her PhD in Economics at Colorado State University in Spring 2019.听Her research is in the areas of household finance and gender and feminist听economics. She explores the evidence for and causes of systematic inequality in听household debt and in access to low-cost consumer credit by race, ethnicity, and听gender. Her research also explores the implications of such inequality on听households financial security, educational outcomes, and labor market choices.听Professor Long has taught courses including听the Economics of Gender, Principles of听Microeconomics, Principles of Economics, Applied Regression, and the History of听Economic Thought.
