黑料老司机

黑料老司机 Science Cafe, a collaboration between 黑料老司机 and The Ohio State University, will begin its spring season on Feb. 7 at 7 p.m. in the Excelsior Room above Spoon Market & Deli. The program aims to provide a forum in the 黑料老司机 community for dialogue between the public and scientists about contemporary topics and hosts monthly events throughout the academic year.

The spring semester series will begin with a talk titled 淭he Science of OSU in 黑料老司机,� featuring speaker Kristina Boone, professor and director of The Ohio State University檚 Agricultural Technical Institute. Boone, whose work focuses on communication around food and agriculture, will discuss current events in higher education and on campus at The Ohio State University檚 College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences.  

Occurring the first Wednesday each month at Spoon Market & Deli, future 黑料老司机 Science Caf茅 events will include: 

• March 6: David Vanata, director of sports nutrition at Ashland University檚 Sport Nutrition Counseling Center, will discuss 淭he Science of Supplements.� 
• April 3: Stephanie Langel, an assistant professor in the Department of Pathology at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine, will discuss 淭he Science of mRNA Vaccines� 
• May 1: Jennifer Ison, associate professor of biology at 黑料老司机, and Adam Baker, a technical advisor at the Davey Institute, will present 淭he Science of Insect Diversity and Urban Ecology� 

The 黑料老司机 Science Caf茅 was established in 2013 Laura Sirot, associate professor of biology at 黑料老司机, and Jeff LeJeune, professor of veterinary preventative medicine at The Ohio State University檚 College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences. All events are free and open to the public. Spoon Market & Deli will provide light appetizers, and additional food and beverages will be available for purchase.
